A FANTASTIC day of golf, fun and friendship was enjoyed by Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday, July 27 to celebrate Captain’s Day.

The weather and course conditions could not have been better and a large number entered a four ball better ball stableford competition.

The overall winners were Jery Lock and Steve Squires with 47 points on count back from, in second Lee Carey and Malcolm Hooper also with 47 points. 

Colin Mortimore and Duncan Vincent were third with 46 points, Ade and Ben Hick were fourth with 45 points, fifth place was awarded to Barry Down and Lewis Parry with 44 points and in sixth place were Di Johnson and Ashley Moon with 44 points.

There were nearest the pin prizes to be won on all par threes and also nearest the pin in two on some par fours. 

Club Captain Richard Johnson presented the prizes, and the day was rounded off with a delicious barbecue and live music.
