A LOCAL runner has begun her attempt to become the youngest female ever to have run the length of Great Britain.
Cardiff law graduate Betsy Board, 21, from Sandford, is attempting to run as far as 1,330 kilometres (about 826 miles) from John O’Groats to Land’s End in three weeks.
She set out from John O’Groats on the morning of Sunday, July 28 and ran 69 kilometres (about 43 miles) on the first day.
Her route will eventually take her through Crediton and other local towns and villages, and she has invited people to run or cycle alongside her.
Ms Board aims to raise £5,000 for Children’s Hospice South West and has raised £1,325 for the charity at the time of writing.
