IT has been a busy time at Downes Crediton Golf Club and Saturday, July 27 saw the club host its annual Kirton Cup Three-Player Team Open.
It was the team of Ashley Ford, Duane Greenslade and Neil Ford who finished top of the pile with a superb score of 88 points.
Finishing in second place was the team of Phil Beasley, Stephan Yates and Ricky Buttle with a score of 87 points.
Monday, July 22 saw the Seniors annual Devonian’s vs The Rest, which saw the Devonian's claim victory once again.
On Wednesday, July 24, Robin Abraham’s won this year’s Les Pope Cup with a score of 38 points while in the Mid Week Stableford it was Tom Murphy with 34 points who claimed top spot.
Lyn Parry scored 34 points to take top spot in this month’s Ladies Stableford on Thursday, July 25. Di Botterill took second place with 33 points.
Mike Palmer won this week’s Nine Hole Stableford with 21 points.
The club is pleased to announce that Downes Crediton PGA Professional Barry Austin has qualified for the Senior’s Open Championship at Carnoustie with some of the biggest names in golf like Colin Montgomerie, Ernie Else, Darren Clarke and many more.
Barry kept his cool and managed to make the cut in the Seniors Open Championship, which is an incredible achievement and all are very proud of Barry.
