A TEENAGER was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital this morning, Sunday, August 4, by a Devon Air Ambulance from a motocross event held near Crediton.

The event was held at the well-established motocross track, Crediton Raceway, at Denbury Farm, which is located between Crediton and Yeoford.

A spokesperson for Crediton Raceway told the Courier this afternoon: “Today at our motocross event a local 17 year-old crashed in the first session.

“His bike hit him hard from behind.

“He was taken to the R D and E, Exeter by Air Ambulance.

“He has been checked and although very battered and bruised has no serious injuries.”

The practice day and camping event at Denbury Farm ran from 10am to 4pm and there were categories for youth and adults.

Groupings included experts and inters, novice, 85cc and 50-66cc.

First aid is always on site when such events take place.
