A MAN accused of stabbing his uncle to death in Brampford Speke has been remanded in custody after making his first appearance at Exeter Crown Court.
Corin Harper-Davis, 36, was not asked to enter a plea and no application was made during a short procedural hearing at which Judge James Adkin set a provisional trial date of January 20, 2025.
Harper-Davis, of Dermody Road, Hither Green, London, is accused of murdering his 64-year-old uncle Jonathan Harper at his home in Brampford Speke on the evening of Wednesday, July 31.
Judge Adkin set a timetable for the progress of the case in which the next hearing is expected to be October 21, allowing time for the defence to obtain a psychiatric report.
Harper-Davis, who is a director of a video production business, also faces a second charge of assaulting a police officer.
Brampford Speke is a village around seven miles east of Crediton with a population of just over 400 people.
