TWO events to mark the patronal festival of St Lawrence are coming up in Crediton. 

Described as a “superb” weekend, they will take place at the St Lawrence Chapel opposite the old Landscore School. 

There will be a variety of stalls from 2pm on Saturday, August 10 with “delicious” teas on offer and a “lucky squares draw for a hamper full of Devon goodies”. 

Then, on Sunday, August 11, there will be a service of evensong with the West Gallery Quire. 

Members of the public are encouraged to go along to either or both events at the chapel, which is dedicated to St Lawrence, who was one of the seven deacons of Rome and was martyred on August 10 in 258 AD.
