CHERITON Fitzpaine Garden Club’s Annual Summer Show was a huge success, despite poor growing conditions.

There were plenty of entries in flower arranging, cut flowers and plants.

The tearoom was packed, and a gazebo on the lawn held plants for sale.

RESULTS

Most points in Show - Andrew Dean and Ann Nixon, Most Points runner-up - Best Vegetable and Best Vegetable Collection - Charlotte Jakins, Most points cut flowers - Ann Nixon, Best Pot Plant - Barbara Pratt, Most points Floral Art - Dee Marshall.

First timer most points cup - Hannah Ramsey, Gardeners Challenge Cup - Mary Nunn, Terry Meakin Trophy for Best Zinnias - Ann Nixon, Brownies and Best Children's Entry Trophies - Holly Wotham, Best Floral Art Children's Class - Rosie Bulled (aged two years).

Best Hanging Baskets - Mr and Mrs Phillips (Beech Tree Cottage), Best Tubas and Window Boxes - Mr and Mrs Earle (The Retreat).

The winner of the Scarecrow Competition was Bendy Boris made by Shelagh Bulled and Kate Griffiths.

The Runner up was the Dibley Family with Vaulting Victor.
