THE first flower, produce and handicrafts show to take place at Sandford since 2019 has been branded a huge success.

There were more than 420 entries in the 110+ classes at Sandford Summer Show, which was held in the Parish Hall on Bank Holiday Monday, August 26.

President Tony Wright said he was thrilled to see the return of the Show and Sally West, who won the trophy for Best Floral Exhibit said she had “never entered a show like this before” and was “over the moon to win”.

The hall looked a picture with wonderful exhibits of vegetables, fruit and flowers, floral art, cookery, home craft, photography and there were many children’s classes.

There was a plant stall, prize draw, tea and homemade cakes and a large crowd attended.

Other trophy winners were Maurice Tolly, Nichola Selley, Louise Dudley, Elaine Stanlake, Lyn Cartlidge, Rita King, Jill Burston, Nicky Barnes and Children’s classes competition winners Arlo Evens (7) and Cassius Evens (11) and Jemima Tapp.
