MID Devon Leisure will hold a special open day at the Exe Valley Leisure Centre, in Tiverton, on Saturday, October 26, from 10am to 2pm.
The event promises to be a family-friendly day full of activities, entertainment, and opportunities to explore the centre’s many offerings.
Families attending can look forward to a children’s treasure hunt, providing young visitors with an adventure around the centre.
In addition, there will be an opportunity for guests to go behind the scenes with exclusive tours of the plant room.
These bookable tours, led by Tim Powell – Corporate Projects Officer, are scheduled for 11am and 12 noon, and will give visitors a rare glimpse into how the centre’s swimming pools are maintained.
Swimming enthusiasts will also be treated to a range of activities in the pools.
From 12pm to 1pm, children can join the fun in the learner pool and earn badges and certificates for their participation in various water-based activities.
The day will close with a special “Fun and Float” pool session from 1pm to 2pm, with half-price entry to both the main and learner pools, allowing all visitors to enjoy a relaxing and playful time in the water.
For those eager to test their athleticism, a Blaze Pod competition will offer a fun interactive challenge, while visitors can also meet representatives from local sports clubs, including water polo, Tiverton Swim Club, and the centre’s skilled tennis coach.
Mid Devon District Councillor Josh Wright, Cabinet Member for Service Delivery and Continuous Improvement, said: “We are incredibly proud of the work that has gone into making Exe Valley a place that welcomes everyone, from children learning to swim to adults looking to join one of our many sports clubs. This event is a great showcase of what we have to offer."
