AS the new golfing season begins, Downes Crediton Golf Club is in its 49th year and many new members have joined after a successful membership drive.

Members, new and old, are benefiting from the investment and hard work put in during the past 12 months.

The course is looking, and playing, superbly. Well done to the team of green keepers.

The club receives daily compliments from visitors regarding the condition of the greens and fairways, which have now received their pre-season treatments and will only get better as the year progresses.

The quiz nights, themed evenings, and other social events have added to the activities at the club. It has also recently recruited new Chefs for the restaurant, which is open to non members as well as members.

If you are tempted to take up golf, or are thinking of returning to the game, just call the club, members would love to see you.

Ready for the new season, the clubhouse has been completely redecorated, which looks fantastic.

There’s a super golf course, conveniently split into a front nine and a back nine, with the clubhouse halfway round, should you only fancy a short game. There’s a simulator, a place to meet with friends, and a place to eat.

As well as casual golf each week there are always competitions.
