WITH all main greens in play a large field entered a four ball better ball stableford competition with both scores to count on all par threes at Okehampton Golf Club.
Stuart Tolley and Barry Down were the winners of Division One with 52 points, Keith Harvey and Alan Lawson were second with 51 points after countback from, in third Kevin Cornwall and Mark Wonnacott also with 51 points.
Steve Rice and Phil Atherton were fourth with 49 points and Evan Rees and Mike Hubbard were fifth with 47 points.
Division Two was won by Rod Milsom-Smith and John Tatman with 54 points, Simon James and Rob Holland were second with 53 points and Liam Keen and Martin Horn were third with 51 points.
Fourth place was taken by Roger Slack and John Flavin on the back six placing Richard Salter and David Stanbury in fifth, also with 49 points.
The ladies section played a fun competition with all three scores to count on the first six holes from the yellow tees, two to count on the next six holes from the red tees and only one to count on the last six holes off the white tees.
The winners were Judith Ezard, Janice Thwaites and Sue Stanbury with 57 points narrowly beating Jane Warren, Ann Murray and Maggie Caws with 56 points.
Okehampton Golf Club, located off Tor Road, is a small club that caters not just for its members but for the wider community as well.
It is a charming Par 68 parkland course in the heart of Devon and is described as "The Course with Moor".
It is sheltered by the highest tors of Dartmoor, on the northern edge of Devon’s magnificent National Park.
The club was founded in 1913 and was opened by Sydney Simmons who drove from the first tee.
