Sidmouth Colts 29 - Crediton Colts 32

LAST season’s Colts Cup winners, Sidmouth, were given something of a surprise by the Crediton youngsters who battled away magnificently to nail a three point win with the final kick of the game.

A hat-trick of tries from No8 Tom Ayre, with a couple of George Baxter conversions, took us to a 19-12 interval lead.

Things got much better in the second half when Baxter converted his own try and then landed a penalty to give us what should have been an unassailable 29-12 lead.

However, Sidmouth are not champions for no reason and they rallied in the final 15 minutes to draw level.

A last minute penalty was calmly landed by Baxter with the final kick of the game for an excellent 32-29 victory.

A great result for the Colts and if we keep up this level of performance, who knows where it will take us.

The Firsts have a break weekend on Saturday and the Quins travel to Exeter Engineers who play at the Exeter Athletic ground.

The Vets travel to Exeter Saracens for a 1.30 KO.
