But Nick Taylor, who shot a gross 82 in round one, came back in a gross 79 to finish with a 161 to win this year’s division one scratch seniors club championship.

It was Neil Wilson who took the division one handicap prize with 141 and in division two it was Nigel Ashplant who took the scratch prize with a score of 183. David Cousins, with a score of 142, took the handicap prize.

The winner of the mid-week stableford on Wednesday, June 19 was Phillip Moffat with a score of 39 points.

The following day, our ladies players had their first round of the club championship which saw Tracey Chandler score a gross 81 to take a big lead over Lyn Parry who scored a gross 96.

The handicap was Tracey again with a nett 75 to take a lead over Fran Shrubsole who shot a nett 76.

There was also a nine-hole ladies medal prize which saw Annet Coles with a nett 32 take the cup.

The winner of the nine-hole Thursday stableford was Andrew Smale with 20 points.

After round one it was very tight at the top in both the handicap and scratch club championships with Graeme Amos having a one-shot lead over Ken Bones in the scratch.

But Ken Bones had a two-shot lead over four other players going into the second round, so there was plenty to play for on Saturday, June 22 and it was Stephen Yates who came out on top in the handicap with a second round score of nett 67 to go with his first round 68 finishing with 135 to win this year's handicap club championship.

In the scratch, it was Graeme Amos who came in with another gross 75 to shoot 150 in total to take his first ever club championship.

The ladies’ club championship was also decided and it was Tracey Chandler for the 10th time taking the scratch prize while Sue Jackson took the handicap with a superb second round and it was Jake Kibbey who won the junior prize.
