MANY people from Morchard Bishop knitted, crocheted or made fabric Poppies, more than 400 in total, which were featured in a Poppy field display at Emmanuel Methodist Church.
The display of poppies of different shapes, sizes and colours made a wonderful display which was greatly admired by so many people.
The village Remembrance Service for St Mary’s and Emmanuel Church and all local people took place at Emmanuel Church following Acts of Remembrance at the Village War Memorial.
Sally Hurst, from the local sewing group came up with the community focused project to mark Remembrance.
She said: “It was really lovely to involved the village and both churches and we had more than 400 poppies and some purple ones for the animals too.
“We are proud to honour those who served, those who went to war for us and for service personnel today.”
In addition, Ashleigh Warman-Dawes, made a banner with the words “Lest We Forget”, which ran along the front of the church.
