RESIDENTS of Sandford have been sent a letter by Mid Devon District Council ahead of the arrival of large lorries bringing five Zed Pod homes to the village.
The plan is for the development of former garage blocks at Crofts Estate, Sandford, to provide five one-bedroom houses with associated parking and landscaping works.
The letter says: “I’m writing to update you on the construction work taking place on the former garage block.
“We advised in our last communication that modules would be delivered over a two-day period in August.
“We have now confirmed the dates as August 6 and 7. The crane will arrive on August 5.
“We will make our best endeavours to reduce impacts but there will be a requirement for parking suspension on the way into the site and some traffic management. The suspension on Crofts estate will be both sides of the road indicative in the images below:
“The traffic management company will be sending out a letter regarding the parking suspension shortly.
“The parking suspension will begin on the evening of August 5 and we have allowed an extra day to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
“The team at Mid Devon District Council will attempt to speak to residents regarding the parking protocols opposite the site on the Crofts Estate Road.
“Anyone affected by the parking suspension will be offered an alternative place to park. We have arranged for Permits to allow you to park for free for the duration of the works at: Mid Devon District Council Car Park, High Street, Saint Saviour's Way, Crediton EX17 3JU.
“We will run a courtesy transport service to and from the carpark to minimise impacts this may have on you and will provide you with the number to call shortly to make this as easy as possible.”
