I WAS a pupil at QES in Crediton from 1953 until 1960.

I therefore read with great interest your tribute to Ed Bayliss (October 31, 2015), who was my Biology teacher. He was, as you state, a truly inspirational teacher.

He undoubtedly spurred me on to study Veterinary Medicine, then to take a PhD and become an immunologist with the Medical Research Council at their Institute at Mill Hill.

I therefore regard him as one of my childhood heroes!

I am currently writing my own memoir, and would therefore love to learn more about the subsequent lives of any other teachers at QES during this period.

For example, perhaps you have news about what happened to the Headteacher Mr DA Grenfell?  Or the formidable music teacher, Marjorie Jaco?

With many thanks in advance.
