A LOCAL couple have celebrated their Platinum Wedding Anniversary.
June and Cyril Tancock, from New Buildings, near Sandford, were married on April 22, 1955, at Holy Cross Church in Crediton.
The couple set up home in the tied cottage that came with the farm, where they still live today.
Cyril worked from the age of 15 for the Crooke family, working on the farm until he retired.

He would been seen ploughing in the fields with a team of four horses (Duke, Major, Tidy and Farmer).
His first tractor was an Allis Chalmers.
He was awarded a certificate at the Devon County Show for his 40 years’ service on the farm.
Cyril played skittles for The Lamb Inn at Sandford and enjoyed fishing in later life.
June’s first job was hairdressing but went on to work at Kellys, Shiphams and Baby Chic.
June had a love for music especially Status Quo and went to their concert in Cornwall.
She was lucky enough to be given a drumstick by Rick Parfitt and still has it today.
June keeps herself busy by knitting baby clothes for the baby care unit in Exeter.
They have four children, all boys, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Both June and Cyril celebrate their 90th birthdays this year, another milestone to celebrate.
They said the secret to a good marriage is "love, respect for one another, patience and always being there for each other”.
A celebration with family and friends was held to mark the occasion on Sunday, April 19 at the Devonshire Dumpling at Morchard Road.
The family say that they are proud of their Mum and Dad, explaining that their devotion to each other is an inspiration to them all.
They said: “Your love has been a constant source of strength and joy in our lives, thank you for showing us what real love looks like.”
