ONE of Europe’s leading young string ensembles is to play in Crediton on Sunday, May 19.
The Saint Boniface Concert Society is delighted to welcome the Fibonacci Quartet to open its 2024 season of concerts in Crediton Parish Church.
The concert will take place at 3pm.
The Fibonacci Quartet, which has won a whole series of international competitions, regularly perform at major music venues including the Wigmore Hall, the Auditorio Sony, the Conway Hall, and the Museo del Violino, Cremona.
They are a Resident Ensemble at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid and at the Dutch String Quartet Academy in Amsterdam.
They have received mentoring from Quartetto di Cremona at the Stauffer Centre and have been privileged to work closely with Eberhard Feltz. We are very lucky to hear young musicians of this calibre here in Crediton.
The concert is kindly supported by Making Music (the Philip and Dorothy Green Young Artists Trust) and by Crediton Town Council.
The quartet’s programme is very exciting, with works by Mozart (his Quartet No. 16 in Eb major), Janáček (his first Quartet, the Kreutzer) and Schubert (“Death and the Maiden”).
Tickets are available from A E Lee Outfitters, High Street, Crediton, online from: www.ticketsource.co.uk , or on the door, subject to availability.
The price is £15 per concert, FREE to full time students under 30.
For further details, please see the website: www.bonifaceconcerts.co.uk . Refreshments are on offer at the concerts. Crediton Parish Church has parking available, as well as disabled access.
