A CHANCE to “create magical festive memories” is coming up at RHS Rosemoor as it hosts its yearly winter lights trail.
Tickets for this year’s illuminations are now available to book, with select dates from November 15 to December 28 available.
“Get ready to embark on a brand-new journey at RHS Rosemoor Glow and see areas of the garden that have never been illuminated before,” a spokesperson said.
“As you wander the trail, let the festive music lift your spirits and take a moment to marvel at fairy light Christmas trees, shimmering mirror balls and showstopping lights dancing across the lake.
“See beautiful trees drenched in festive colour and follow moving snowflake lights that guide your way.
“For the very first time, venture through the rock gully, past a sparkling waterfall and into a rainbow tunnel of lights.
“Spot fantastic silhouettes lit up in the Stumpery and enjoy the warming glow of a field of flames as you emerge in Lady Anne’s Arboretum.
“Keep a look out for the opportunity to be the stars of the show with family and friends and snap a picture!”
Takeaway food and drink, including soup and pasties, festive treats and mulled wine or hot chocolate, will be available from the Otter Café and Shepherd’s Hut along the route. Guests can also enjoy a seasonal meal with fresh local produce in the garden restaurant before or after the trail.
A specially adapted RHS Glow night for people with special educational needs will be held on Thursday, December 5 from 4.30pm to 8pm. It will feature fewer visitors, minimal noise and fewer distractions. Up to two accompanying carers can go free.
Also available this autumn and winter between November 9 and January 31 is the Winter Sculpture Exhibition at the gardens.
Visitors will be able to admire the work of 40 sculptors from across the UK, including local artists from the West Country.
More than 200 sculptures, ranging from fluid installations to large-scale pieces, will be on show.
In addition, Christmas craft and food fairs, “filled to the brim with tasty temptations and artisan gifts”, will be held at RHS Rosemoor on November 15 to 17, 22 to 24, 30 and Sunday, December 1.
Admission to the fairs after 4.30pm is included with Glow tickets on selected dates. It is also included with garden admission and is free to RHS members.
“You can even pick out a UK-grown Christmas tree, buy gorgeous decorations and find gifts for the bookworm in your life from the garden centre,” a spokesperson said.
RHS Garden Rosemoor is located just south of Great Torrington at postcode EX38 8PH.
