THURSDAY 24

7.30pm - Film Screening of Purpose, Crediton Arts Centre, Film Screening of Purpose, followed by discussion which will include thoughts about its implications for us here in Crediton, no charge, donations welcome.

FRIDAY 25

7.30pm - An Evening of Folk Songs and Stories at the Old Town Hall (above Crediton Museum). Presented by CAHMS and the Folklore Library and Archive. £5 a head, further details from http://creditonhistory.org.uk/whats-on.aspx or at the museum.

SATURDAY 26

10am to 11.30am - Morchard Bishop Memorial Hall, Coffee Morning in aid of Ukraine and Moldova, cakes, scones, preserves, bric-a-brac, books, etc. All welcome.

10am to 12 noon - Art Exhibition and Sale, by local artists, Community Hall, Bow Village Hall, Bow Market in the Hall.

10.50am- for 11am, Garden of Remembrance opens at the Church of the Holy Cross, Crediton.

1pm to 4pm - Sustainable Crediton and Significant Seams Eco Crafternoon, Boniface Centre, includes The Repair Cafe, many stalls, craft activities, craft swap, workshops, refreshments.

1pm to 4pm - Sustainable Crediton Repair Cafe, Boniface Centre (note change of time and venue).

6.30pm - Tedburn St Mary Fireworks, Recreation Ground, display 8pm, adults £8, children 5-11 £3, Under 5’s free, family ticket 2 adults, 2 children £20, cash only, refreshments, bar, candyfloss, sweets, Punch and Judy, kids carousel, supporting local charities.

7pm - Doors open for Family Bingo, Cruwys Morchard Parish Hall, eyes down 7.30pm.Good prizes.

MONDAY 28

2pm to 3.30pm - Macrame Workshop, Crediton Library, for all ages to create original Christmas decorations for your house and Christmas tree, all materials provided, suggested donation of £10 to cover costs, book at Crediton Library.

TUESDAY 29

2.30pm to 4.30pm - Boxes of Delight and Scrolls of Wonder, Join Sara and Wendy in a 'make your own Crankie workshop' where you can convert a small box into a mini Crankie (picture scroll) inspired by an animal journey. £2 each for children or adults.Please book in the library or via 01363 772578 or email: [email protected] . 6pm to 7pm - Performance of interactive visual storytelling using Crankies (picture scrolls) and Kamishibai (picture cards) that they have made. Intergenerational show, £2, free to those who attended workshop.

6.30pm - Doors open for 7pm screening of film, Six Inches of Soil – the revolution is underground, Crediton Methodist Church. Entry by donation (suggested £4).Refreshments available.To see a trailer of the film and find out more about the campaign go to: www.sixinchesofsoil.org/ .Following the film there will be Q and A discussion lead by James Lee, Martyn Bragg and Clive Edmunds.

WEDNESDAY 30

11am - Crediton Vintage Farmers meet for tea and coffee, Waterbridge Golf Course, Down St Mary, 11.30am Presentation and Q and A by Andrew Butler, Agricultural Manager, Crediton Dairy, book with Tamlyn 077190 14912 or email: [email protected] .

7.30pm - Talk by local mammal expert Paul Chanin on ‘The Otter: Past, Present and Future’, preceded by a short AGM of Devon Mammal Group, Boniface Centre, Crediton. Booking via http://devonmammalgroup.org £2.50 DMG members, £4 non-members.

2pm to 4pm - Half Term Holiday Fun, Free Craft event, Autumn leaf craft drop-in with colouring sheets available, Crediton Library.

SATURDAY 2

3pm - Organ Recital by Jon Rawles, Peter Gilks and Andrew Millington, Crediton Parish Church, a programme of popular solos and duets. Tickets are £10 on the door, including tea and cakes. All welcome.

SUNDAY 3

3.30pm - Upham Methodist Church Chapel Anniversary Concert, Led by South Molton Circuit Choir, Collection for Children’s Hospice South West, refreshments at close, A warm welcome to all. (EX17 4HN).
