A BELOVED part of Crediton’s creative community is entering an exciting new chapter.

Following the retirement of Katharine Mitchell from the Katharine Mitchell School of Dance, two familiar faces are stepping forward to carry on her incredible legacy.

Sophie Stevens and Gemma Richardson, both passionate, experienced, and deeply connected to the school, are proud to announce the launch of S and G Dance Academy.

To celebrate this new beginning and welcome both current and prospective families, S and G Dance Academy is hosting an Open Day on April 26, at the Old Town Hall, Crediton, from 11am to 4pm. All are invited to attend.

The day will include: A lively dance display from 1pm to 1.30pm, showcasing the talent of current students, fun activities, a photo booth, refreshments and delicious cakes, brand-new S and G Dance Academy merchandise, a chance to win a raffle prize, information on classes, the academy’s vision and future goals, and how to get involved.

Sophie and Gemma said: “As we move forward, we want to express our deepest gratitude to Katharine Mitchell for her years of dedication, inspiration and care in shaping generations of dancers.

“Her legacy will always be at the heart of the studio, and we are so proud to continue building on the strong foundation she created.

“We’re also thrilled to announce that Georgia Steer will be joining the S and G Dance Academy team as our Ballet Instructor. Georgia brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for classical technique, and we’re so excited for our students to learn and grow under her guidance.”

Sophie and Gemma say they are committed to maintaining the warmth, discipline, and creativity the school has always been known for, while bringing fresh energy and vision into the studio.
