THE Annual General Meeting of Sustainable Crediton was held at Crediton Arts Centre on Thursday, April 10.
It was the first AGM since the organisation became a registered charity.
Recognition and thanks was given to all the volunteers and especially the core group who co-ordinate and manage the operation and support of all the groups and projects associated with Sus Cred.
Special thanks was given to Caroline Romijn and Terry Hadley who were stepping down from the core group after many years of contributing leadership and inspiration.
The financial report was received and accepted; income and expenditure has been stable and a budget for the current year agreed.
The big events of the year have been very successful including: The Big Green Fair held in September, the Crafternoon held in October, the Clothes Swop held in January and the Seed Share held in February.
Regular activities have continued including: Pollinator Plots, Woodland Management, Tree Planting, the Repair Café, support for the Boniface Trail, opening the Sustainabubble hub and the hugely successful Food Larder.
New events for this year included two films on the theme of sustainable farming and food, running activities for the Haywards School Super Heroes Day and a public consultation on land use plans for the Old Deer Park area of the town.
Future plans include setting up a Library of Things and events including a talk “Supporting Swifts in Towns and Villages” on Thursday, May 8.
Chairperson John Craythorne acknowledged it has been another very busy and successful year for the organisation.
He called on anyone interested in getting involved with Sustainable Crediton to contact him via the website or Facebook or pop in to the Sustainabubble on the Town Square.
