NEWTON Nippers Pre-school ran a raffle during Newton St Cyres Primary School’s sports day, which was held at The Rec.

The raffle raised money for resources to enhance the learning and development of the children.

The star prize was the use of an e-class Mercedes for a weekend donated by Mercedes-Benz, of Taunton, and was won by one of the parents, Kirsty Conder.

Lots of local businesses donated prizes including Four Seasons, Quickes Traditional Ltd, Crediton Card Centre, Bernaville Nursery and The Beer Engine. P R Cars gave a generous donation towards the fundraising.

The Mercedes was on display during Newton St Cyres Primary School’s sports day. During the morning the children took part in a variety of sports including the javelin, hoop throw and standing jump.

In the afternoon parents came to watch as children took part in a variety of events including running, obstacle race, egg and spoon race and sack race.

Newton Nippers is based in a purpose-built pre-school in the grounds of Newton St Cyres Primary School and caters for children aged from two years to school age.
