EXETER Mathematics School (EMS) is an Ofsted Outstanding, state-funded sixth form specially designed for young people who love maths, physics and computing.
It receives applications from students across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset.
To be accepted at the school, students have to sit a challenging entrance exam and succeed in the interview process. There are limited places and many applicants.
Last year, three of our outstanding mathematicians: Sophie Cooper; Christian Woodley and James Harmer, all won a place at Exeter Mathematics School having passed the entrance exam and interview process.
This year three Year 11 pupils, Zac Elston, Emily Jade Passmore and Alex Fletcher have all received conditional offers to start in September 2024.
Zac, Emily and Alex all achieved a Level Nine in their Maths GCSE at the end of Year 10 and are sitting both Higher Statistics and Further Maths GCSE’s this year.
