THE last Crediton Urban Taskforce [CUT!]’s day of action before Britain in Bloom judges arrived in the town took place in Belle Parade.
The volunteers, just a few, did a great job.
Pavements were cleared of weeds and some additional sign cleaning took place the following day as part of Devon County Council’s Road Warden Scheme.
The RHS Britain in Bloom judges visited the town to assess Crediton’s entry into the Pennant Competition on July 16.
Crediton last entered in 2022 and received the Silver Gilt Award. Not only do the judges want to see the beautiful displays of horticulture in the town, there is a huge emphasis on the community and how it comes together to look after the town.
[CUT!] is a volunteer-led initiative that was brought forward by members of the community and supported by Crediton Town Council, which is grateful for the volunteers efforts.
Weeding is a non-statutory service that was once provided by Mid Devon District Council but that service was withdrawn.
The next action afternoon day by [CUT!] volunteers will take place on Jockey Hill on August 10 and 24.
Anyone who would like to help should look out for details of where and when to meet nearer the time.
Volunteer Natalia Letch said: “Please come and help! The more helpers we get the bigger area we can clean in a couple of hours.
“If you cannot join us, please help Crediton by cleaning the streets along your walls perimeter at a convenient time for you.”
