THE County Still (scratch) Cup semi-finals were held in warm but very blustery conditions on Friday, August 23 at Thurlestone Golf Club.
Okehampton ladies’ team, caddies and supporters set off early in anticipation of a great day’s golf and they weren’t disappointed.
Despite some very tough closely fought matches, Okehampton managed a 5-2 win against their opponents from Dainton Park.
This has now put them through to the county finals, which will be held at Torquay where they will be playing against Teignmouth later in the month.
On Saturday, August 31 an individual stableford competition was held.
The winner of division one was Chris Pike with 40 points, Malcolm Hill was second with 39 points, Alan Lawson was third with 38 points and Adam Cook was fourth with 37 points.
Division two was won by Ade Hick with 42 points, Pete Okopski was second with 37 points, Lee Pengelly was third with 37 points and Alex Anderson was fourth also with 37 points.
The winner of division three was Steve Pole with 39 points after countback from, in second Bill Tucker, Archie Grant was third with 36 points and Stephen Squires was fourth with 36 points.
