DOWNES Crediton Golf Club player, Jim Enright finished in top spot in this week’s Seniors competition the Captains Cup on Monday, August 21, with a superb score of 44 points, which also gave him top spot in Division Two.

In Division One, Mike Thurston scored 43 points to take the prize.

On Thursday, August 24, Fran Shrubsole scored 41 points to take first place in the Ladies County Stableford.

Diane Botterill scored 40 points to finish second, while Jill Yates scored 24 points to take the nine-hole stableford prize.

The winner of the nine-hole roll-up stableford was Gerald Abdoll who scored 22 points.

This year’s Ray Shire trophy winners, on Saturday, August 26, were the team of Nick West, Paul Hayward and Christian Donovan who scored a fantastic 48 points to pip the team of Adrian Cram, David Bunclark and Russell Cram who scored 46 points to finish second.
