SANDFORD First Team travelled to Exmouth to play Ex Dons in the Football Express Cup on Saturday, February 15.
On a wet and greasy pitch a passing game was never going to happen so it was a long ball game.
Sandford kicked off and started the livelier of sides and, after 11 minutes, winger Mooney scored to give Sandford the lead, 0-1.
Two more chances in the first half hit the post before forward Baker made it 0-2 to Sandford just before half-time.
The second half saw Sandford tire and with two freak goals, one a bicycle kick from touchline, the other a 30-yard or more shot which made it 2-2.
Then, with two lapses in the middle of the Sandford defence, Ex Dons increased their lead to 4-2. With another goal before the end the Exmouth side ran out 5-2 winners.
This Saturday Sandford travel to Uplowman for a league match.
