IT was league cup semi-final weekend for many Crediton Youth FC sides.
The U16s made it through to the final after they overcame Honiton Town.
They came from a goal down to lead 2-1 through goals from Oli Baker and Rhys Ebdy, only for the home side to draw level in the dying seconds with a deflected goal.
Extra time still could not find a winner and penalties followed.
The Crediton lads kept their nerve and captain Hayden Leach converted the winning penalty to see them through to a final against their arch-rivals Alphington Youth.
It was an easier passage through to the final away at Lympstone for the U15s.
Ashley Henderson lead the scoring with a double, and further goals from Fletcher Clark, Jake Shepherd and Seb Roche sealed their 5-0 victory. They will take on West Exe Youth in what should be a cracking final.
The U12s hosted Brixington Blues in their semi-final. There was to be no giant-killing for them as they lost out 3-0 to the Division One side despite putting up a tremendous performance.
Their coaches have been so proud of their impressive cup run for a Division Three side.
There will be no cup final for the U10 Pumas after they lost out to neighbours Copplestone Panthers in their semi-final at Lord’s Meadow. Harry Shepherd and Lennie Wilmott got on the scoresheet for the Pumas.
It was league action for the U14s who edged out Teignmouth 3-2. Two goals from Jimmy Orchard and one from Archie Delling saw the home side pick up another three points.
The U11s had to settle for a draw in a thrilling game away at West Hill, with Dexter Hughes, Freddie Hubber and Parker Ambrosio getting their goals.
The U8s made the short journey to Copplestone Youth and they returned with two victories.
It was a great Sunday for the U12 Girls Blues who edged out high flying Exmouth United Reds with Molly Carr getting a hat-trick.
The U12 Youth Girls had a bad day at the office as they unexpectedly lost out at home to Exmouth United.
It was county cup action for the U10 Youth girls side, but their cup run came to an end at Starcross Dons.
Back in action were the U8 girls as they hosted two very strong Starcross Dons and Torquay United sides.
The U18s had to settle for a point at home against Sidmouth Town. Goals from Joe Hopkins and Rhys Ebdy looked to have sealed a 2-1 victory, only for the visitors to score late on.
