CREDITON United FC clubhouse was the venue for the Annual Presentations for Crediton Youth Football Club.

Once again the presentations were run in two sessions. The first for the Junior Section, saw the clubhouse full to capacity. This was quickly followed by the Senior Section event.

Club Chairman, Martin Daniel, welcomed everyone and introduced Kye Fowler from Exeter City Football in the Community and Grecian the Lion, the Exeter City mascot, to present the awards and participation medals to the Junior Section.

Matt Trenaman, Crediton United first team manager and Dave Lee first team captain, joined by Graham and Mary Avery, presented medals and awards to the Senior Section.

The 2016-17 season had been superb for the club. Membership stood at more than 300 players with a large growth in the Junior and Girls’ sections as well as forming a partnership with the Turning Tides Project for disability football.

The club has also put on a varied programme for its members including many trips and activities.

It has been a successful season for the club, with Under 16’s winning their league and the Under 10’s Cobras winning the Plate Cup Final. The Under 12’s and Under 14’s girls’ sides have also won trophies.

Clubman of the Year award went to Dave Hartshorne, for his hard work and contribution to the club, which has seen him coaching and helping with four sides.

Chairman’s award in the Junior section went to the players and coaches from the Under 8’s, for their outstanding season.

Vice Chairman’s Award, presented by Adrian Harvey, went to Nikki Sandland in the Junior Section for all her hard work and to Martin Heywood in the Senior Section for his outstanding work at the end of the season.

The Tim Roach Memorial Award for Outstanding Contribution or Achievement made by an age group went to the Under 16’s.
