CREDITON United FC clubhouse was again the venue for the Annual Presentation event for Crediton Youth Football Club.
Club Chairman, Martin Daniel welcomed everyone and introduced Perry Carpenter and Richard Blake, two long-serving Crediton United players who both retired at the end of the season.
They both presented the awards and participation medals to the Junior Section. The club was delighted that Chris Gillard, long-standing Crediton United committee member, was able to present the medals and awards to the Senior Section.
The 2017-18 season had been another great season for the club, although it had been made challenging by the wet winter. Membership had remained at around 300 players, with the club fielding sides from Under 7’s to Under 18’s including three girls’ sides.
The club had again put on a varied programme for its players, including two trips to watch Premier League games, and a dedicated trip for the girls to watch the England Ladies v Wales, World Cup Qualifier.
Clubman of the Year award went to Scott Brimilcombe, for all his hard work with the Under 10’s and his outstanding efforts as Tournament Sponsorship Co-ordinator.
The Chairman’s award in the Junior Section went to Steve Lethbridge, in recognition for the time and dedication, he has put into both Under 11 sides.
The Chairman’s award in the Senior Section, went to the Girls Section for their continued growth and development.
The Vice Chairman’s Award presented by Adrian Harvey went to Ian Leach in the Junior Section for his continued support, and to Andrew and Lin Warren in the Senior Section for their hard work and commitment to the Under 12 age group.
The Tim Roach Memorial Award for Outstanding Contribution or Achievement made by an age group went to the Under 13 Girls, who won both the North Devon League and Cup.
Manager of the Year Award went to Dave Hartshorne and Sean Hartrey. They had successfully managed the Under 15 Girls side into third place in their first season in the Devon County League.
