AFTER a three-week enforced break due to the weather, Crediton Youth FC sides returned to action last weekend.

The U16’s had the early kick off and they ran out 4-1 winners in their league cup tie against Topsham Town.

Rhys Ebdy led the scoring with a hat-trick, and Ollie Baker grabbed the other goal.

Following on, were the U15’s who were up against Stoke Hill in their cup quarter final. They edged out their guests 3-2.

An impressive first half performance should have seen them put the game to bed, but their guests made them put in a strong defensive display in the second half.

Seb Roche with a brace, and Fletcher Clark goal saw them progress.

The U14’s entertained West Hill Wasps in their Plate fixture. Dan Cavanagh led the scoring for them with two, and further goals from George Strawson, Luis Matthews and Will Hopkins saw them into the next round with a 5-2 victory.

It was Plate action as well for the U13’s away at Exmouth United.

They returned with a 4-0 result with Casey Philp, Edward Lippolis, Freddie Peake and Rory Hiscock getting the goals.

The U12’s hosted Heavitree Falcons and had a convincing win in their cup tie.

Edward Petherick, Jacob Jones, Jacob Sweeney, Joseph Charlesworth, Luke Beetlestone, Ollie Dallyn and Radu Mototolea amongst the goals for them.

Also in action were the U12 Development side at Okehampton. Two goals from Jenson Langabeer and another from Russell Wise saw them clinch the El Clasico cup with a 3-1 victory.

The U10’s also had cup action at Lords Meadow. They progressed through to the next round with a fine victory over Seaton Town.

Ben Whelan led the scoring for them with a hat-trick, with Harry Shepherd, Lennie Wilmott, and Lennon Young also getting in on the action.

It was cup action for both U9 sides. The Panthers lost out in their tie at Clyst Valley.

The Puma’s progressed on penalties at Brixington Blues United after their game finished level. Ellis Buckingham and James Weetman on the scoresheet for them.

Sunday saw the U16 girls take on Torquay United Community Sports Yellows at Lords Meadow.

A cracking game of football finished one each with Ruby Turner getting the equaliser with a fine strike. But both the Crediton goal keepers Amelia Duffin and Faye Hooper made outstanding saves during their shifts in goal.

It was cup action for the U12 Blues Girls but they lost out away at Twyford Spartans.

After a long break the U8 girls travelled to Sidmouth for a mini tournament. They thoroughly enjoyed their morning with some great results.

The U18’s maintained their fine form with 5-1 home win over Newtown. Ben Betts with a double, Alfie Poole, Harry Welsh and Rhys Ebdy on target for them.
