Crediton RFC Colts 17 - Barnstaple Colts 22

HAVING narrowly defeated Barnstaple back in October, hopes were high of another victory for Crediton Colts in the second phase of the Devon Colts Cup.

It was an evenly contested game in difficult conditions. Both sides fully committed but it was the lads from North Devon who came out on top.

Sam Cliff, Monty Charteris and Jake Kibbey scored the tries with Kibbey landing a conversion.

We end 2024 with all teams in healthy positions, the First XV sitting in third place in the league behind Topsham and Okehampton.

Whether anyone can catch Topsham remains to be seen as they are 12 points clear at the top.

The Quins head their league level on points with New Cross but we have two games in hand, but beware North Tawton who have hit some form of late and crept almost unnoticed into third place just five points behind.

The Third XV have continued their remarkable form and have gained 55 points (out of a possible 60) 13 points clear of nearest rivals Ilfracombe (42 points) and Barnstaple Thirds (40 points) although both those sides have two games in hand.

The Colts are looking to reach one of the Colts Cup semi-finals and will have a good chance of doing so.

The Ladies sit in second place in their league, four points behind Launceston.

The year 2025 looks to be a very interesting and exciting time for the teams and for each of them there is much to play for.
