The Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface have been delighted to again run an Industrial Bowls Competition at Crediton Bowling Club.
The competition was started by the Rotary Club of Crediton in 1973 and a competition has been held most years since. It is a marvellous community event which brings people together from all walks of life and raises money for charity.
This year there were 55 teams each with four team members and it was played over a two week period finishing with the final on Saturday, August 19.
The winning team was RJ Tyres led by their captain Richard Jones.
The runners up were Nomads ‘A’ Team. There was a large raffle the winning prize was £100 in cash and this was won by Peter Cookson, of Crediton Bowling club.
Rotary President Garry Adams thanked the Bowling Club for hosting the event and for all the hard work many of their members put in. Thanks were also given to Rotarian Paul Radnor who organised the event and Rotarian Richard Carey and his wife Sue who sold the majority of the raffle tickets for the prize draw and for everyone else who was involved in making the competition such a success.
The Rotary Club are delighted that the total raised was £1,250 and this will go to local charities.
