YEOFORD Community Primary School pupils have raised more than £1,500 for the PTA in a sponsored “readathon”.

Throughout the month of March, younger children sought sponsorship for every book they read or had read to them, and older children for every chapter they read.

There were prizes in each class for the most books read, the most money raised, the best picture inspired by a book and the best photo taken reading a book in an unusual place.

The winners were Sebastian and Jack, Emily, Natasha, Willow, George, Ada, Sophie, Millie, Louis C, Maeve, Winter, Millie, Ellie and Lyla.

The money raised will be used to improve the shelter in the school playground and buy new books for the school library.

Yeoford PTA has thanked The Duck at Yeoford, Tesco, Bow Garden Centre, Once Read and the Bookery for donating prizes.
