WORLD Day of Prayer is a women led, global, ecumenical movement which sends a continuous wave of prayer around the world each year on the first Friday in March.
The Day of Prayer is celebrated in more than 120 countries.
It begins in Samoa and prayer in native languages travels throughout the world – through Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas, before finishing in American Samoa some 38 hours later.
This year the service has been prepared by women in Taiwan on the theme of "I have heard about your faith".
In Crediton, the World Day of Prayer Service is held in one of our four Churches in turn.
This year, in 2023, it will be hosted by Crediton Congregational Church at 2pm on Friday, March 3.
The service is presented by people from each denomination, will last about an hour and will be followed by light refreshments.
All are welcome to go along and join in this international participation in prayer.
