TWO films are to be screened at Crediton Library for £3 each.

Sequel Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022) will be shown at 2pm on Wednesday, November 20, and Hamlet (2023), Shakespeare’s tragedy reimagined as a “gripping psychological thriller”, at 7pm the same day.

It comes as part of the low-cost “Films at the Library” initiative run by Libraries Unlimited across Devon and Torbay, with funding from Arts Council England and Exeter City Council.

“We’re keeping our prices much lower than standard cinema costs and giving people the opportunity to enjoy new and less well-known films as well as some old favourites,” Tamsin Pender, programme co-ordinator at Libraries Unlimited said.

“Our customers have said they love the atmosphere and the fact you can bring as many blankets and cushions as you like and really relax!”
