MARCO Boi and Libby Del Conte from Play Innovation joined the young people at Crediton Youth Club for an afternoon of games, challenges and prizes on Thursday, June 29.
Crediton Youth Club recently purchased Street Snooker, an outside wall game designed to develop key skills, tackle inactivity and support mental and physical health and well-being.
Lead Youth Worker, Cath Kelly, said: “This is a fantastic facility that is designed to be inclusive.
"It was brilliant to see young people getting involved as sports leaders and to see all the members join in and try it out. Huge thanks to the Play Innovation team for donating and installing our new score board!
"We've loved seeing young people get involved in the competition to win JD Sports vouchers.
"We'll be running another JD Sports voucher competition during our HAF week, details can be found on our website.”
A small group of young people were trained by the Play Innovation team in how to use the new Street Snooker game and scoreboard.
With this knowledge, the group taught the other young people how to play, getting everyone involved and learning valuable skills.
Marco Boi, Play Innovation founder, said: “There’s no better feeling than seeing first-hand when children are being active, playing on a game you invented and wanting to play over and over again to try and beat their scores!
"We did a short tutorial on various ways to play the Street Snooker game (60 second challenge throwing a ball and also a football version with no timer) and then a few of the teenagers took over and showed everyone else how to play.
"The rest as they say, is history!”
