SOUTH West Water is delighted to be supporting one of the region’s biggest Pride events which returns this weekend.

After a year’s absence, Exeter Pride is back in the city this Saturday (May 11) to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities across the area in a bright, rainbow-coloured show of diversity and inclusion.

The march begins at midday on Sidwell Street and will head down the High Street, turning off onto Queen Street and towards Northernhay Gardens where there will be a whole host of afternoon performances, as well as food and drink, to enjoy.

Central Library and the RAMM will also be hosting a range of fun activities throughout the day, including an Absolutely Flagulous workshop at the library from 10am.

As well as sponsoring the event, South West Water is encouraging everyone going along to take a reusable bottle to fill up for free at one of its drinking water units, helping to reduce the amount of single-use plastic at the event.

Beth Lythgoe, South West Water’s LGBTQ+ Network Lead, who’s also volunteering at this year’s event, said: “It’s great to have Exeter Pride back on the calendar and we’re proud to be supporting the event and the LGBTQ+ community once more.

“One of our company values is #BeYou. Nothing sums that up more than the wonderful celebration of diversity at Pride events, so we’re really looking forward to joining customers and colleagues on Saturday.”
