IT was a glorious day for walking for a change on Friday, May 12, this time from Sandford car park, commencing with a short climb on the Kennerleigh road until branching off down an enclosed path and across fields to the North Creedy road.
Crossing over the road the group made their way to Shaky Bridge where there was a sudden fleeting glance of a Kingfisher before we made our way past The Old Mill and an ascent to Upton Hellions and following a path to Middleways we now encountered road walking via Thornedges Lane and a return to the car park followed by coffee at Homeleigh.
Crediton Walk and Talk group meet fortnightly at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre at 9.45am.
Walks start from the Leisure Centre or nearby and take around 90 minutes, covering about three miles.
Anyone is welcome and walks are free to join. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome, as long as they are kept on a short lead.
The next walk is on Friday, May 26.
