A EUROFIGHTER Typhoon has been spotted over the skies of Crediton and its surrounding villages.
The Royal Air Force jet fighter’s flight path shows big, looping circles back and forth over Lapford, Chulmleigh, Copplestone, Witheridge and elsewhere today, Wednesday May 22.
It appears to have come from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire and is returning north at the time of writing.
RAF Coningsby is home to several Eurofighter Typhoon units, including No. 3 Squadron, No. 11 Squadron, No. 12 Squadron, No. 29 Squadron and No. 41 Squadron.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, which operates Spitfires, Lancasters and more from the Second World War, is also based there.
Other Typhoons have also been seen in the local area today and yesterday, as well as Merlin helicopters, which are used by the RAF and Royal Navy.
The Eurofighter Typhoon has a characteristic delta wing and a maximum speed of 1,320mph.
