A SOUP and Puddings Lunch, held at Cheriton Fitzpaine Parish Hall, was an overwhelming success and raised a record £1,255 for Save the Children - a lot more than last year’s event.
Visitors had the choice of five soups, rolls and cheese and lots of home-made delicious puddings.
Judy Tucker, Jonathon Berg, Chris Carr and Paula Mossman were kept busy in the kitchen and Yvonne Clayton served the puddings.
There were numerous stalls manned by the Brownies and Rainbows and Cheriton Fitzpaine Primary School PTA saw brisk sales. David and Paddy Dornom ran the draw, and there was superb entertainment given by 13-year-old twins Leo and Ella Golby, on the guitar and cello, to great applause.
Organiser Jenny Berg thanked everyone who helped and supported the event.
