CREDITON Walk and Talk members met at the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre before a short drive to Newton St Cyres Recreation Ground to begin our early September walk.
After the earlier rain the weather soon cleared up and became rather warm.
From here we headed out across fields and road towards Shute Cross where we turned north and soon regained the field path leading past apple orchards with branches laden with fruit to pause for a break to take in the view.
Our walk then led us down hill to follow a small lane past picturesque Little Newcombes and Nortons Cross following the road back to our transport.
We are currently looking to recruit Volunteer Walk Leaders for the Crediton area. If you are interested and would like more information please contact Claire Ridge.
Crediton Walk and Talk group meets fortnightly on a Friday at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre at 9.45am.
Walks start from the Leisure Centre or nearby villages and take around 90 minutes, covering about three miles but this does not include travelling times.
Anyone is welcome and walks are free to join. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome, as long as they are kept on a short lead.
The next walk is on Friday, September 15.
