MID Devon Primary Care Network, in partnership with Involve Mid Devon, is pleased to announce the launch of a new support group for people affected by cancer.

This initiative aims to create a welcoming space where those living with cancer, as well as their families and caregivers, can find comfort, share experiences, and access vital resources.

The support group will meet regularly, offering a range of discussions, and guest speakers to provide practical advice and support.

Both organisations hope this collaboration will help build a strong, local community of support and solidarity for anyone touched by cancer.

The first phase will see the launch of monthly coffee mornings, which will be held at Homeleigh Garden Centre, Barnstaple Cross.

The group will meet on the first Wednesday of each month, starting on Wednesday, October 2, from 11am to 12.30pm.

“We are so pleased to bring local, much-needed support to the Crediton area," says Paula, Health and Wellbeing Manager at Mid Devon PCN.

"We know that being with people who truly understand what you are going through can be a great help.”

Tamlyn, Crediton Community Builder, Involve Mid-Devon, explains: “This initiative has been developed with the guidance and help of Macmillan to ensure the right support is provided.

“We held some listening events at the start of the year which helped us understand what is needed in the area. It has been made possible thanks to a grant from Macmillan, enabling us to bring these services to the community”.
