Mid Devon's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M5, from 9am July 18 2022 to 11.59pm August 29 2027, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5, junction 28 to 29 hard shoulder closure in both directions for parapet works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M5, from 7pm August 5 to 6am August 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 26 to junction 28, lane closures for Horticultural works.

• M5, from 7pm August 7 to 6am August 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 28 to junction 26, lane closures for Horticultural works.

• A30, from 7pm August 12 to 6am August 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Whiddon Down to Woodleigh lane closure for drainage works.

• A30, from 8pm August 15 to 4am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 both directions Woodleigh to Whiddon Down - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

• M5, from 9pm August 19 to 6am August 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 27 to 28, lane closure for structure inspections.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
