HOW I wish we could be celebrating Peace Day instead of Armed Forces Day!

What exactly are we celebrating?  Arms companies making huge profits?

Training young people to use weapons and kill?

I know that, in our militaristic Crediton society, people will say we are celebrating those who are willing to protect us.

But, from what do we really need protecting?

Are the armed forces protecting us from climate catastrophe or the dire state of our natural environment? 

Are they protecting us from the cost of living and housing crises?

I await some angry responses from those committed to the military!
