AS part of a “Happily Ever After" theme children from Team One at Landscore Primary School in Crediton will be taking part in a mock wedding.

In preparation the children learned about weddings from four visitors.

Donna Lamb, from Susan’s Flower Shop in Crediton showed the children some pictures of bouquets and button holes and talked about the kinds of flowers used for weddings and in different cultures. She also showed them how a bouquet for the bride and a buttonhole for the groom are put together.

They learned about the bride’s dress when Liz Rafferty from The Ivory Secret took along some designs and explained about the different shapes and styles of wedding dresses. She also showed the children some wedding dresses, veils and accessories.

Debbie Jones who is a kitchen helper at the school will be making the cake for the mock wedding and talked to the children about how the cake will be made and decorated.

The children also learned to waltz in preparation for the big day.

The mock wedding will take place at Crediton Congregational Church on Wednesday, July 12 at 1.45pm for all KS1 children and parents.

This will be followed by a mock reception in the new Karis Room at the church.
