JIMMY at Once Read has come up with a brilliant idea to help local parents and grandparents, who are struggling this Christmas, to give their children or grandchildren a gift.

There are three boxes of free books, toys, puzzles, cuddly toys and other toys outside the shop at 4, High Street, Crediton for parents and grandparents to take to wrap up for Christmas.

Jimmy said: “Christmas is near and all of us are needing to tighten our belts, especially in the current recession.

“It goes without saying that your purchases are important to us but at the same time I know there are some parents and grandparents who are going to struggle to buy pressies for young children in their families.

“But please remember these are not for all to just take, but for those in most need this Christmas.”
