ON Saturday, March 2, the Lions Club of Crediton and District celebrated its 46th Charter Anniversary Dinner at the Waie Inn, Zeal Monachorum.
Lions from Crediton, Exeter, Tiverton, Exeter West, Budleigh Salterton and Paignton were present at the event, plus President Garry Adams and members of the Rotary Club of Crediton Boniface.
The Lion District Governor James Mathers and his wife Gail and Trisha Sail from the RNIB were the principal guests of Lion President Ann Whitehouse.
In all, 59 people were present to sit down to a very enjoyable evening meal provided by the Waie Inn.
The Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Lion Eric Parkes MJF and Grace was given by Lion Janet Davey.
Lion Eric Parkes is the only remaining member since the Lions Club was inaugurated in November 1977.
The Loyal Toast was by Lion President Ann Whitehouse and she also gave the Toast to Lions Clubs International.
The Response was by Lions District Governor James Mather. The Toast to Partners and Guests was given by Lion Karen Hoskins and the response was by Tricia Sail of the RNIB.
Some may remember that Tricia was one of the winners of the television programme “Race Across the World”.
