A NEW addition to St Lawrence Chapel in Crediton will be on view on Saturday when the St Lawrence Fayre takes place at the chapel.
An Icon was commissioned to Anna Mazar, a talented Icon Writer who was one of the first Ukrainian refugees to arrive in Crediton in March 2022.
Anna is a painter of Icons and religious art and would welcome commissions. She can be contacted by emailing: [email protected] .
Sandra Collier, assistant curate with the Crediton Benefice clergy team, said: “We cannot thank Anna enough for this wonderful Icon.
“It will be on display this Saturday, August 12, at the St Lawrence Fayre from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
“Do come along and enjoy sitting in the beautiful garden of St Lawrence Chapel, Threshers, whilst sipping tea and eating sumptuous cake.
“There will be book, bric-a-brac and home produce stalls, there is also a draw for a Devon Hamper, full of many goodies all made in Devon.
“The Icon will be displayed for the event on the altar.”
She added that on Sunday, August 13 at 6pm there is an Evensong.
“The West Gallery Quire will be singing and the Icon of St Lawrence will be blessed by Rev Preb Matthew Tregenza.
“Everyone is welcome to both events.”
